What We Collect
When you create a MockSport account, we collect your email address and a username. We also store your virtual token balance, bet history, friends list, challenge history, and general activity within the app (such as login streaks and ad-reward claims) so the game works correctly. At sign-up we also ask for your date of birth, solely to confirm you meet our minimum age (see Age Requirements below) — we don't store the date of birth itself, only a yes/no record that the check passed.
If you sign in with Google, we receive your name and email address from Google. We also store: your notification settings and the browser/device push subscription if you turn notifications on; whether you opted in to marketing emails (and when); when you were last active (shown to friends as "online"); your friends, leagues, watch parties and reactions; and basic usage data such as pages viewed and which link brought you to MockSport (for example a social media post).
How We Use It
Your information is used solely to operate your MockSport account — authenticating you, tracking your token balance and bets, connecting you with friends you choose to add, and improving the app. We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
Age Requirements
MockSport requires everyone to be at least 17 years old to create an account, in line with the age rating app stores require for simulated-wagering content, and isn't directed at anyone under 17. We don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 17. If we learn that we've done so, we'll delete that account and its data. A parent or guardian who believes their child has created a MockSport account can contact us via the Contact page to request deletion.
Cookies
MockSport uses cookies and similar technologies for essential site functionality, and — where you accept them — to show ads and measure performance. You can choose which cookies to accept from the banner shown when you first visit.
Third-Party Services
We use a small number of service providers to run MockSport: Convex (database and backend, hosted on Amazon Web Services in Ireland, EU), Macaly (website hosting and email delivery), Google (Google sign-in and, where you accept advertising cookies, Google AdSense), and your browser's push service (Google, Apple or Mozilla) if you turn on notifications. Sports data providers supply odds and scores; we don't send them your personal information. These providers may collect standard technical data (like IP address) under their own privacy policies.
Data Storage
Account and gameplay data is stored with our backend provider in the European Union (Ireland). We keep it while your account is open. Short-lived records are removed automatically (for example error reports after 30 days and in-app mascot messages after 7 days). When you delete your account, your sign-in details, email, username, friends, leagues, notifications and settings are deleted; past picks are kept only as anonymous records with no name or email. We take reasonable measures to protect your information, though no system can be guaranteed 100% secure.
Your Choices
From Me you can: download a copy of your data and delete your account (Me → Your data, or see Delete Account); turn marketing emails on or off (every email also has an unsubscribe link); turn notifications on or off; and opt out of having your username shown in our social media posts (Me → Privacy). You can also contact us with any privacy request.
