Eagles vs. Commanders: Injuries, Opportunity, and Our Top Sunday Night Football Picks

By CDUBS PICKS | November 1, 2026

Sunday Night Football | Philadelphia Eagles at Washington Commanders | 8:20 PM ET

Sunday Night Football brings us an NFC East rivalry between two teams desperately looking to get their seasons back on track. The Philadelphia Eagles travel to Washington for a matchup featuring plenty of familiar faces, some significant injuries, and a handful of player props that caught our attention.

Philadelphia enters the night looking to snap a five-game losing streak, while Washington hopes a week of rest can help turn its season around.

But here’s what makes this matchup interesting: injuries have changed the outlook for both teams, and those changes could create some opportunities that aren’t immediately obvious.

At CDUBS PICKS, we’ve identified three individual selections and a two-leg combination worth examining. Let’s break down what we’re seeing.

The Injury Report: Who’s Playing, Who’s Missing, and Why It Matters

Before getting into our picks, let’s talk about the injury situation because it could have a real impact on how this game unfolds.

Philadelphia Eagles

The biggest name to watch is Saquon Barkley. He’s been dealing with hamstring and back issues, missing practice Wednesday and Thursday before returning Friday. The good news for Eagles fans is that he’s been cleared to play.

Philadelphia will also be without receivers DeVonta Smith and Dontayvion Wicks, along with several defensive contributors, including Jihaad Campbell and Jonathan Jones.

Washington Commanders

Washington has its own problems.

Terry McLaurin is on injured reserve, taking a major playmaker out of the receiving corps. Defensive tackle Javon Kinlaw is also out, while the team’s defensive front has additional injury concerns.

Stefon Diggs, meanwhile, was a full participant in Friday’s practice after appearing on the injury report with hand and hamstring issues.

These aren’t just names on an injury report. They could influence play-calling, player opportunities, and ultimately which props have the best chance of cashing.

🥇 Pick of the Day: Rachaad White — Under 12.5 Rushing Attempts (−132)

We’re starting with a player whose role has been fairly predictable this season.

White hasn’t exceeded eight rushing attempts in any of his five games with recorded carries entering tonight.

That gives us a reasonable foundation for liking the under.

But there’s another side to consider.

Washington has been dealing with injuries in its backfield, and with Jacory Croskey-Merritt on injured reserve, White could receive additional opportunities.

That’s the biggest threat to this selection.

Still, we’re looking at a line that requires him to reach 13 carries, a significant jump from what he’s consistently received this season.

Our thinking is straightforward: unless Washington changes its offensive approach and commits to giving White a considerably larger workload, the under remains an interesting play.

CDUBS PICKS Selection: Under 12.5 Rushing Attempts (−132)

🥈 Runner-Up: Sonny Styles — Under 4.5 Tackles (−146)

Sonny Styles has been one of Washington’s more active defenders this season, but his solo-tackle numbers tell an interesting story.

Despite his involvement on defense, Styles has finished with fewer than five tackles in five of his six games this season.

That includes Washington’s first meeting with Philadelphia, when he recorded just three.

His most recent performance against San Francisco is worth noting, though. Styles finished with seven tackles, showing he’s certainly capable of exceeding tonight’s number.

But one strong performance doesn’t necessarily change the bigger picture.

Philadelphia’s offensive approach and how often Styles finds himself in position to make the stop will be important factors tonight.

We’re leaning toward the season-long trend here. With five of six games finishing below this number, including the previous matchup against the Eagles, we like his chances of staying under again.

CDUBS PICKS Selection: Under 4.5 Tackles (−146)

🏅 Honorable Mention: Saquon Barkley — Over 12.5 Longest Rush (−119)

This might be one of the more interesting selections on tonight’s board.

Barkley has been battling injuries, and there’s legitimate reason to question how much Philadelphia will ask of him.

But that’s exactly why we prefer looking at his longest rushing attempt instead of relying on his total rushing yards.

Think about it.

We don’t necessarily need 15 or 20 carries. We need one good run.

Last Monday against Dallas, Barkley played through his physical issues and still broke off a 29-yard rush on just seven carries.

That’s the kind of explosiveness we’re looking for.

Washington’s defensive front also enters this matchup dealing with injuries, potentially giving Philadelphia opportunities to create running lanes.

Of course, Barkley’s health remains a concern. A limited workload reduces his chances, and one strong run is never guaranteed.

But if he’s healthy enough to play and finds some daylight, clearing 12.5 yards on a single rushing attempt is certainly within his capabilities.

CDUBS PICKS Selection: Over 12.5 Longest Rush (−119)

🔥 Official Two-Leg Combo (+335): Stefon Diggs

Leg 1: Stefon Diggs — Over 42.5 Receiving Yards

Leg 2: Stefon Diggs — Anytime Touchdown

We’re going with a two-leg combination featuring the same player, and there’s a reason Diggs caught our attention.

First, Washington is missing Terry McLaurin.

Someone needs to help fill that receiving void, and Diggs is an obvious candidate to take on meaningful responsibility.

Second, we’ve already seen Diggs produce against this Eagles defense.

In their first meeting this season, he finished with 55 receiving yards and a touchdown.

He also enters tonight coming off a game against San Francisco in which he caught six passes for 44 yards and a score.

The receiving yardage requirement isn’t enormous, but Diggs still needs meaningful involvement in the passing game.

The touchdown is the more difficult part of this combination.

That said, Washington could look toward its veteran receiver when it needs a reliable target in scoring situations.

There’s a reasonable football argument for both outcomes happening together, although the legs are closely related and the touchdown component creates substantial risk.

Final Thoughts

Sunday Night Football should give us plenty to watch beyond the final score.

We’re paying particular attention to Washington’s offensive adjustments, Philadelphia’s injury-depleted lineup, and whether Barkley can deliver another explosive rushing play.

Our featured selection focuses on workload. Our honorable mention targets explosiveness. And our two-leg combination looks at the opportunity created by Washington’s changing receiving corps.

Every wager carries risk, and even a solid matchup can unfold differently than expected.

That’s football.

The goal is to understand why an opportunity exists, recognize what could go wrong, and make informed decisions.
